...Of Macaque and Man

I doubt that shooting the suspect in the baby abduction and homicide case (a macaque that had kidnap and bit a 4-day-old infant to death) would solve anything.

It's not that he's a serial killer. I don't think he even had a criminal record. The alpha male in question had the right for a just trial. Poor thing didn't had the chance to defend himself in court.

Plus rumours had it that they had shot the wrong macaque. Even if they did shoot the culprit, it brings me to the conclusion that even more innocent macaques' life are being threatened now.

They should have run a DNA test to identify the real murderer, shouldn't they?

Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray, but we do not agree that to go on a stingray hunt or rally would do justice for the Irwins no?

As for the family of the poor baby, I feel really sorry for them. They must have been traumatised by the tragic and gory incident. Especially the mother, who has high probability of sinking into post-partum depression (meroyan).

Don't get me wrong. I know that the Wildlife Dept assumed that they had no choice but to prosecuted the male macaque as it was a threat to the residents' safety.
Alpha male can be very violent and due to its size it can kill an adult.

Well yeah, back in my college the monkeys are a threat too. They aren't agressive but who knows. I remember waking up to the sound of the venetian blind and found a monkey on my study desk. It shows no fear for me at all. Hmm....
